The Permanent Secretary of Kano State Bureau for Land Management Dr Zainab Ibrahim Braji said when the automation of the Bureau’s operations is completed, 80% of land problems in Kano will be solved furthermore the Bureau have issued about 11,538 number of Certificate of Occupancy from January 2012 to December 2021, she also described the process of obtaining Certificate of Occupancy from the Bureau according to the Land Use Decree of 1978 State that all lands in the state are vested in the Governor who shall hold it in trust and administer it for the benefit of all.
The procedure is as follows:
1. Filling the application form and the payment of the relevant fees,
2. Attaching the relevance document which include
a. Site/Survey Plan
b. Prove of Ownership
c. Means of Identification
3. Then the processing starting by verification/clearance from the following MDAs depend on the application:
a. Kano Urban Planning and Development Authority
b. Department of Petroleum Resources
c. Fire Service
d. Ministry of Commerce, Industry, Cooperatives, and Tourism
e. Local Government
f. Nigeria Police
